In this week’s People Behind Property Assistant we hand the floor over to our talented and creative graphic designer.
Gareth Wood, Designer
Broad Creative is an independent graphic design studio based in South Yorkshire. The business is responsible for creating bespoke design solutions for some quite diverse projects. These include our printed and digital marketing materials such as sales brochures, eBooks, the graphics to accompany our regular blog content and lots more besides.
We started working with Gareth a few years ago and were immediately very impressed with how quickly he understood our design briefs. A small team with big ideas, much like our own business, Gareth delivers fast and professional results at a great price.
It goes without saying that Gareth is a creative individual but we also value his talents in marketing know-how and brand development which have helped us create a strong online presence.
Someone who also puts family at the heart of his own life, we find Gareth to be an easy-going man to work with who understands our business well.
As ever, we grilled Gareth with a few choice questions to find out more about him and what he values in life as well as what it’s like to work with the Lawry team.
Tell us a little about what your job entails.
Designing online and print collateral for a variation of clients.
What did you do yesterday?
I started a website front end design plus some advert concepts for two different clients.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Being creative within the often very tight boundaries of budget and deadlines.
What kind of problems do you face on a day-to-day basis?
Problem solving in a creative way. Deadlines!!
What’s it like to work for Property Assistant?
I’ve found PA easy to work with. Their briefs are always very clear and they know from the outset what they want. They also have a good understanding of ‘brand’ and the importance of retaining a visual consistency throughout all their marketing material.
If you weren’t working in your current job, what would be your dream career?
What would be your ideal home and where would this be?
A modern / minimal German flatpack house – somewhere close to nature.
If you won the lottery jackpot, after a house, what would be your first big purchase?
Pay friends/families mortgages and then a sizeable charity donation.
What’s your guilty pleasure in life?
Blue Moon Craft Ale!
What do you do to unwind after a stressful day?
Spend time with girlfriend and two daughters. I also enjoy football, music and streaming TV.
What five words would your best friend use to describe you?
Hopefully…. Kind, Warm, Generous, Loyal, Easy Going!
What is the most important thing in life?
Family, friends, relationships.
Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?
Simply enjoying family life. Although we would like to re-locate to the Northumberland Coast in the future.
